Important Date Changes To The COAM License Application Process

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGES TO THE
COAM LICENSE APPLICATION PROCESS
FOR LICENSING YEAR 2021 (07/01/2020 – 06/30/2021)

The Georgia Lottery Corporation Coin Operated Amusement Machine (COAM) Division has announced extensions to renewal deadlines to help individuals and small businesses better manage the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 public health emergency.  See important date changes below:


05/11/2020 (Monday) 

The COAM licensing application (www.gacoam.com) opens for the 2021 licensing period (07/01/2020 06/30/2021) for the following: 

  •  Master Class A ‐ NEW and RENEWAL
    •    Master Class B ‐ RENEWAL
    •    Location Class A ‐ NEW and RENEWAL
    •    Location Class B ‐ NEW and RENEWAL
    •    Manufacturers and Distributors - NEW and RENEWAL

Note: The Georgia Lottery Corporation is only accepting applications for NEW Class B Master licenses through an auction process for pre-qualified participants.  Master License auctions occur at least once every three (3) years.  Once the next date has been determined, it will be posted to the COAM website.


06/01/2020 (Monday) 

Deadline to apply for a new Location license (Class A and Class B), a new Master Class A license, and a new Manufacturer or Distributor license for the 2020 licensing period (07/01/2019 - 06/30/2020).


06/30/2020 (Tuesday) 

Deadline for Master Licensees to purchase additional Class A and Class B decals or Location Licensees to add Class A and Class B machines for the 2020 licensing period (07/01/2019 - 06/30/2020).


09/01/2020 (Tuesday) 

Date a $1,000 late fee will be assessed to Location Class A and Class B licenses, Master Class A and Class B licenses, and Manufacturer and Distributor licenses that have not RENEWED for the 2021 licensing period (07/01/2020 – 06/30/2021).  An existing COAM licensee will not be allowed to apply for a new license to avoid payment of late fee.


11/30/2020 (Monday) 

Last day to submit a RENEWAL Location Class A and Class B license, Master Class A and Class B license and Manufacturer and Distributor license for the 2021 licensing period (07/01/2020 – 06/30/2021).  If a holder of a 2020 COAM license fails to renew its license or its license application is not approved on or before this date, the person or entity will no longer be allowed to operate COAMs.
